To answer this and some of the other recent questions: 3D inherently has a dimmer image on screen. At the same time, it\'s more necessary to expose all portions of the frame in this format than it is in film. So by comparison, Saw VII will have less contrast between light and dark than the earlier SAWs. In addition, we have opened up the environment a lot more, with much more location shooting, including day and night exterior stuff.
To compensate for the dim 3D image, I will be brightening the look of the 3D version of the movie. This process begins in about a month, so I will be doing a lot of experimenting to achieve the best overall look for the movie.
The film has a lot more \"set piece\" scenes than the other SAWs, so it\'s more of an adrenaline rush, while still being a horror film, of course. I don\'t like to make promises I can\'t keep, but let me say that fans of gore will be happy with the film.
I wouldn\'t expect much in the way of images or trailers for a few weeks. Then there will be a lot. As usual, if you are spoilers sensitive, beware of the boards in the days before the film\'s release, maybe sooner!
I think there will be a booth at Comic-Con, like last year, but I don\'t know if there will be anything besides an autograph signing table. Naturally I hope for a lot more sizzle, but it\'s too early to tell.
