I have a few questions about multiplayer, would appreciate it if someone could give us a hand: 
 
1. When hosting a match, how do you give your server a name? 
 
2. On the Steam Version you can invite a friend to join your game / lobby (so far my friend and i have been unsuccessful in trying, we both have Steam) 
 
3. Is there a LAN option? I have not had the need for LAN so far, but I can not see an option to host / join a LAN game. Also, because we could not join each other\'s game, my friend and I tried hosting a game and then the other looking for it, but we could not find it (with no filters, all filters, each filter tried separately, and also tried switching who was hosting the game) - can anyone explain why this is?

I do not really want to port forward but I really want to play this game with my friends, we have used Hamachi for several other games like Arma 2 but this game seems to be rather difficult. I see there are other topics discussing this but I\'ve tried the solutions in them where I could find them and they do not seem to work. This is very aggravating and if I could get some help it would be very much appreciated.

I\'m wondering how to create a server available over the internet for a project. I don\'t want to host it at home, since my computer is not always running, so I contacted a web hosting enterprise (OVH) to know if they could do it. They answered me \"this might require high server performance, could you give us the technical performances requires to run minetest\".
Therefor I have, again, some (noobie) questions.. - what are the minimal pre-required performance (CPU? RAM? other?) to run Minetest for, say, a dozen of players; - my account on OVH gives me a webserver (PHP), but no console in order to launch the minetest server. What\'s the kind of server that I need?

After a few happy years at webfaction, I\'m itching for a change. This time I\'d like to experiment with hosting my own OpenVZ/LXC/Docker system on top of a dedicated/bare metal server. For now this isn\'t going to host anything mission critical or sensitive, so if I screw up security it\'s not really an issue. Is there a host out there that would provide a cheap (~$10/month) yet decent dedicated server? I\'m not looking for anything high performance, but it should be able to run Postgres, nginx, python/node/ruby/whatever, perhaps a wordpress installation or two without glaring speed issues. As you can probably tell I\'m really new to this sysadmin business, but I hope that I will learn a thing or two. I don\'t want to mess with Docker and co, just the experience of setting up single-app linux machines (in the sense that one container would contain an entire app for simplicity, web server, db, storage etc). My understanding is that I\'d get a real server of my own, a linux distro, an ssh root login and perhaps a control panel if I really screw things up, then I\'m on my own. Thoughts?
